| Description : | the bench is c shaped with 4 black wooden legs and wood brackets for each leg. the top of the bench is padded and covered with a wine plush covering and a black and gold fabric trim around the edge of the fabric (jdp 19930225). this was used to kneel on at the altar for ceremonies of the lodge. it was first owned by loyal orange lodge no. 27 in saint john and then transferred to loyal orange lodge no. 169 at loch lomond near saint john. (jdp 19930225). kneeling benches are placed in front of an alter in the lodge room for member to kneel on to repeat the obligation of a member and officer install lion pledge. |
