| Description : | straight wooden stock. the ends are shaped and cut away underneath giving the oval handles an upturned appearance. the middle section has a triangular notch cut out at the back to about half the width of the sole of the stock to take the cutting iron. the iron is mounted horizontally, with two tapered square tangs at the ends turned up at right angles and driven into the corresponding tapered holes in the stock. the wooden sole in front of the cutting edge is rounded.
