The bottom of the backs are square with 4 rows of horizontal reeding along the base, with c-shaped swirls on each side. the top half of the chair backs are semi-oval with a reeding along the bottom edge and a scolloped shell flanked by heavy foliage scrolls on the top rail. in the centre of the top half is a carved plaque |
