| Description : | In 1973, Kings Landing purchased a set of 22 Windsor chairs from Russell Bond. According to the provenance which Russell provided, these chairs came from William Van HorneÕs home, Covenhaven on MinisterÕs Island. Kings Landing purchased these chairs for use in the Kings Head Inn, and because of their heavy construction and British manufacture, they have been also used around our theatre. Consequently there is some damage to 5 of the chairs. Since Covenhaven is being restored Kings Landing will de-accession these chairs and turn them over to the Heritage Branch. I would urge us to have Jeff Nevers repair the damaged chairs before we return theem to the Heritage Branch as a professional courtesy. (Darrel Butler 19980212) |
