Description : | LAMP BODY - made of clear smooth thick glass which has discoloured to a dark purple shade (slag in glass). The lamp has two seams. Its overall height is 47.2 cm, it stands 28.7cm high with the burner assembly, 24.5cm without it. The base is round 13.1cm diameter. It is hollow most of the way up the pedestal. The base has an edge 1.8cm from the bottom up. The edge ends in a square ridge. The glass is smooth and plain from this ridge upwards. The glass widens to a ball to the pedestal. The pedestal also widens at its base then narrows at the resevoir otherwise it is also plain. The resevoir dips into the pedestal a bit leaving 2cm of solid glass in the pedestal. The resevoir is round and plain until the shoulder. Here there is a small ridge below a large thick rim. A gold metal collar is cemented on the top and it is serrated around its bottom edge. . CONDITION - The collar is tarnished and is cracking in 4 places. There are large bubbles in the glass, plus other manufacturing defects. There is a small chip in the base bottom and some markings on the resevoir. 182.11b. As 978.182.10b except the thumb screw is round (serrated edge) and reads 'P & A MFG CO. WATERBURY CONN. MADE IN U.S.A.'. CONDITION - The chimney prongs are rusty as well as the thumb screw. There is a dent in the rim near the thumb screw. No blackening from use so it appears that the burner is a replacement of the original. 182.11c. LAMP CHIMNEY- made of cleasr glass. Its overall height is 21.5cm with the base being 7.5cm dia. and the top 5.3cm. The glass widens 4cm above base to reach a max. of 32.5cm The neck is quite short approx. 6cm. CONDITION - good. Both edges are finished. |
