Outlining the hole on the underside is a dark coloured piece of wood that is 11.5cm long and 10cm from the top is a metal loop that the metal handle hooks into. The handle consists of a curved metal rod with a 8.9cm long piece of shaped wood on the centre where the churn can be picked up by. On the bottom front of the churn body is a metal tap or spiggot used for draining the buttermilk. It extends 4.7cm out from the body. Just above it is a long oval shaped numbered gauge with clear glass in the centre so as to see into the churn to see the level of the liquid. It is 14.8cm long and 2.9cm wide and scaled 1 to 5. The churn body is 48.3cm high and has a diameter of 22.8cm. The churns plunger is homemade out of a light coloured wood. It consists of a long handle that fits through the hole in the centre of the lid. At its base are two small boards that crisscross to make an 'x' shape. These are 16.8cm x 4.3 cm and 17.5cm x 4.1cm. The plunger is 64cm long and has a diameter of 2.7cm at the top end. Possibly conversion of creamery can as outlined in McLennan, McFeely & Prior catalogue, 1938, p. 720. Previous number 75.3036.
