| Description : | LAUNDRY BOILER LID: An oval washer or canner pot lid with centre strap metal handle 15.3cm long and 2.2cm wide. Lid measures 58.5cm long 31.2cm wide and is rounded on both ends. An indented groove 1.4cm from the outer edge is all around the top surface producing a bulge all around underside which allows the lid to fit down inside as well as extend over edge of boiler pot thus rendering a more secure fitting lid. BOILER: Flat bottom, straight sides, oval shaped with wooden handles on each end. Side: 30cm high, 30.5cm wide, 55.6cm long. Body of boiler is made entirely of copper. The handles are made of wood and fastened to the boiler at the top at each end with two rivets holding each side of the handle mount to the boiler side. Two bands, 2.2cm wide, near the centre of the boiler sides, are impressed in the metal completely around the sides.; Metal, Tin; Metal, Copper Number A2163. accession number: F S 0982.0028.0016 |
