| Description : | HANGING LAMP CRYSTALS: (Cut glass prisms or drops) For hanging lamp 984.22.01. - 61. The crystals are attached to the small circles with holes on rings 984.22.12 qnd 17. Each crystal is made of clear glass and has two parts, a top crystal and bottom crystal which are joined together by a wire connector. The top crystal is an octagon. The front od this crystal is an eight sided cone, formed by 8 diamond shaped cuts in the glass. A pentagon is formed between the points of the diamonds and the octagon. The back of the crystal has eight tetragons cut into it which form a flat octagon at their top edges, rather than another cone. The bottom crystal is tear drop shaped. The long part of the tear drop is made of eight enlongated pentagons. The point of the tear drop is made from theree rings of diamond shaped cuts in the crystal. There are 8 diamond shaped cuts made in each ring. The first and second rows have basically equilateral diamonds, while the diamonds cut in the last row are elongated on two sides to form the point of the tear drop. The top crystal has a hole drilled through it from front to back to which the wire hook is attached. The wire is silver coloured and coiled into a circle and flattened on one end to hold it in place in the crystal. The top wire connects with the hole in ring 984.22.12. A similar wire and hole are located at the bottom of the crystal. The bottom crystal has a hole drilled in it from side to side near the top and has a piece of silver coloured wire through the hole. The wire extends above the crystal and is bell shaped. The bottom wire from, the top cryastal wraps around the bell shaped wire, joining the two crystals together. MEASUREMENTS: Some variation in the size of the crystals occurs. Top crystal - 1.5cm x 1.5xm x 0.9cm. Lower crystal - 7.6cm x 1.3cm x 4.3cm circumference. |
