Description : | Ligature jar and sterilizer, which consists of four pieces; the ligature jar (a) consists of a hollow cylindrical glass jar with a slightly concave closed round bottom, a short neck and an open round top with a rounded lip; the top has a solid glass stopper with a cylindrical base with a flat, square handle at the top; the stopper is stuck in the bottle; there is a short length of white string attached around the neck of the jar; a round glass spool is inside the jar; the spool has rounded top and bottom pieces joined together with a cylindrical hollow-centred tube; the ligature jar fits into a brass sterilizer cylinder (b); the sterilizer cylinder consists of a length of hollow cylindrical brass with a flat closed 6-sided base and a round, open top that has threading on its outer edges; a top (c) fits over this opening; the sterilizer cylinder top consists of a flat, 6-sided top with round threaded inner edges and a rounded valve on the top; the top of the valve has a small cylindrical spigot with a small round opening at the top and a semi-circular valve release at the side; the valve release will no longer turn; the cap fits over and onto the sterilizer cylinder; the sterilizer cylinder fits into a cannister (d); the cannister consists of a long, hollow cylindrical copper tube with a flat, closed base and an open, round top; there is a semi-circular rounded heavy metal wire handle attached to the outer top edge of the cannister |
