| Description : | Wax model (moulage) of the ninth step in a vaginal hysterectomy on a prolapsed uterus pulled down through the introitus; the model is made of oil-painted beeswax with talc, built up with gauze; the model shows a woman's vagina with a prolapsed uterus being pulled down through the vaginal canal with a string which is through the cervix; this stage shows the step before taking the uterus out; the doctor has gone into the front and opened the parametrium anteriorally and tied the urethral sacral ligament; the off-white and black strings indicate stitches; the model is painted to depict true colour |
