Description : | The item consists of a glass and metal syringe (a) and needle holder (b); syringe consists of a metal plunger joined to a hollow glass canister by a cupped metal cap with a curving metal end cap; the plunger has a round, flat metal knob joined to a hollow metal rod; the metal rod enters a round hole in the top of a round metal disc-like cap; a round, metal cylindrical block is visible within the clear glass canister, attached to the metal rod; along the edges of the metal cap, there is an L-shaped groove, and a T-shaped groove that extends to the surface of the cap; a small, round button is on the flat metal bottom of each groove; no part of this artifact can currently be moved; the glass cylinder has red-painted lines next to red-painted numbers running vertically, indicating a 10-cc capacity; the glass cylinder is topped by a round, metal, funnel-shaped cap; a thin, short, hollow cylinder extends from the curved surface of the cap; a small hole is at the end of this cylinder; the needle holder (b) fits on top of this rod; the needle holder is a small, hollow metal t-shaped piece; it has a round, lipped hole at one end, where it attaches to (a); a smaller round hole is at the alternate end; two curved metal arms extend from either side of the piece. |
