Description : | Western Electric telegraph resonator, consisting of a cast iron stand and post from which extends horizontally an accordion-type metal arm that screws to a triangular box with one open side. To the floor of the box is mounted a telegraph sounder (2000.032.005). Base of the stand has four holes for screw-mounting to a counter. Unit has newer electrical wiring threading from the sounder through the arm and down the post. Probably circa 1935. Decal on back of the arm reads: Western Electric/Made in U.S.A. Height (stand): 28 cm, Width (fully extended, with box): 73.5 cm (approx.), Base (box): 17 x 12 cm, Height (box): 19 cm ORIGINAL |
