Description : A laundry agitator consisting of a length of wooden dowel which is fixed to a tinned sheet metal cone, inside which is a smaller cone with a wide nozzel-like head inside that. The agitator is gripped on the dowel and plunged down into a laundry tub, forcing water inside the cones and nozzel, then out again through side holes in the larger cone. The sheet metal is rolled along the rim and seam. Metal parts are joined by solder (other than the seam). No maker's name. Mass produced. Stamped near bottom rim: PATENTED 191(3?). (Last number is obscured by a corrosion spot.)
