Description : | A set of three matching pulpit chairs. The centre chair (.1) is an arm chair with padded armrests, back and seat. The side chairs (.2 and .3) have upholstered backs and seats (no arms). Upholstery fabric is royal blue cotton damask, with same colour tape trim around seat edges and upholstered backs. Framework is oak. All of the chairs' backrests are crowned with a peaked ornate wood piece with an inset area, the top of which is a small gothic arch. Three finials on each chair (on at the top of each post and one at the peak of the crown piece). No maker's marks. Circa 1880. Height (centre chair): 164.8 cm, Width (centre chair at front arm posts): 65.5 cm, Height (each side chair): 143.3 cm, Width (front frame): 56.8 cm ORIGINAL |
