Description : Wooden teaching cabinet:

.1) has a hinged door with a keyhole (no key) and a swivel latch. Inside are 13 sliding shelves, each with an instruction sheet glued to the shelf together with samples. Printed on the bottom of each instruction sheet is "COPYRIGHT 1907 BY STANDARD INDUSTRIAL & COMMERCIAL EXHIBITS COMPANY/114 FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK CITY". Shelves explain:
1. cotton with samples missing.
2. aluminum and asbestos with samples
3. limestone and marble with samples missing
4. wood with some samples loose and other missing
5. copper, bronze, brass and tin with samples
6. coal with samples and a cardboard chart "Coal By-Products Chart".
7. glass with samples
8. brushes with samples missing
9. pottery with samples
10. iron and steel with samples
11. lead, zinc, nickel and antimony with samples
12. (printing) type with samples
13. sugar with samples missing

.2) book with loose sheets of cardboard which have samples of grasses. The book is laced together on either end with shoelaces.

.3) cardboard sheet with explanation and samples of pencils.The sheet is labelled "Detailed description of 'PENCIL IN MANUFACTURE' ".

.4) cardboard box of rock samples labelled inside the lid "WELCH/SCHOOL AND COLLEGE COLLECTION OF HOW SOILS ARE FORMED".
