| Description : | A carte de visite studio portrait mounted on grey card. The bottom of the card is printed in gold lettering: Atelier Wertheim/ Berlin Oranienstr. It is a picture of a woman standing with her right arm resting on a high table (a plant stand?). She is holding a book in her left hand. She is wearing a dark-coloured checked fabric dress with a belt. The bodice of the dress has tunic-style detailing with diagonal pleating and a lace inset. The pleats extend over the sleeve which is full and just below elbow length. The skirt has stitched pleats released about knee level. Her hair is upswept and puffed over the ears and crown in the pompadour style. She is also wearing a large white hat with flower-like trim and feathers. Circa 1910. 6.5 x 10 cm ORIGINAL |
