Description : | A carte de visite studio portrait mounted on buff-coloured card printed along the bottom in gold lettering: Oskar Goetze/ Photogr. Atelier/ Berlin, N.W./ Faulstr. 26./ am Criminalgericht. It is also printed on the back: Photograph. Atelier/ Oskar Goetze/ Berlin/ Hamburg/ Hannover/ Konigsberg/ Tilsit/ Insterburg/ Elbing/ Lubeck. The woman is standing with her left hand resting on the back of a settee. She is wearing a medium-coloured dress. The bodice of the dress has an overhanging pouched front with lace trim in a V down the centre. The neckline is filled with white fabric in fine pintucks and has a stand collar. The shoulders of the bodice fronts and the upper part of the sleeves are shirred. The lower three-quarters of the sleeves is full and arranged in two puffs, one above the elbow and one below. The sleeves also have a long cuff trimmed with the same white lace as on the bodice front. The skirt is gored with stitched pleats to below the knee. It is trumpet-shaped flaring out toward the back. She wears a brooch at the centre front of the collar, a long chain with a watch on the end, and a wedding ring. Her hair is dressed close to the head at the sides, puffed up at the front, with a fringe of curls at either side of her forehead. Circa 1900. 6.5 x 10 cm ORIGINAL |
