| Description : | A woman's summer dress of white cotton embroidered muslin. The embroidery is machined, stylized floral motifs in green, blue pink, yellow, olive green and grey. The bodice has a centre front insert of netting with a lengthwise double frill edged in red. The opening is at the left side, under the shawl collar, and is closed with dome fasteners. The shawl collar is made from an embroidered fabric with scalloped edge worked in yellow, green, red, and black with three-part geometric motifs. The seam joining the collar is covered with a narrow lace ribbon. There are pintucks at the shoulders. The long sleeves are joined by hemstitching at the armhole and have a wide lace cuff with netting underneath and a magenta pink velvet ribbon along the hem edge of the netting. The bodice and skirt are gathered to a mesh lace waistband. The skirt has a placket opening at the left side front with dome fasteners to close. The front hemline is trimmed with a wide band of lace. The back hemline is gathered to a scalloped lace ruffle and beading with a magenta pink velvet ribbon woven through. There are ribbon loops at each end of the beading. The dress is machine sewn.
