Description : .1) A rectangular wooden portable writing desk with a lid hinged to the top. A paper label has been applied to the top of the lid, which has a black background, a gold banner across the centre with a green ribbon on the right and red roses above and below the banner. "WRITING DESK" is printed across the banner in red. Inside the lid and the bottom half of the box are two hinged flaps that are covered with purple velvet with a black and gold paper border. The top flap is held closed by a small clip at the top of the lid. The flap inside the lid conceals a shallow compartment. The other flap also conceals another shallow compartment. There is a paper label on the underside of this flap that reads: "Clayton and Keymer School Board. Prize. Awarded to Ivy Pinkett. For regular attendance and good conduct during the past school year. T.H.R. Shank. Chairman. December, 1900". Found inside this desk was a flat rectangular wooden lid with a small round black knob in the centre. There is a blue and white label on the back side that reads: "A.H. HOMEWOOD STATIONER & BOOKSELLER. 1&2 BANK BUILDINGS BURGESS HILL". A square piece of wood (possibly a divider) was also found inside the desk.

.2) A square, clear glass inkwell belongs to this writing desk. It has angled shoulders with a screw-on cap on top.

.3) A small cylindrical capsule with a pop-off lid that contains pencil lead.

.4) Length: 16.6 cm. A pen with a cylindrical wooden handle with a metal nib on the end.

.5) Length: 19.4 cm. A pen that has a painted wooden handle that is red in colour with a brass shaft and steel nib on the end.

.6) A letter opener with a spotted wooden handle and a tapered steel blade on the end.

.7) A pencil with a cylindrical black plastic shaft and a metal tapered tip at the end. "PATENT PERRY & CO." is stamped on the tip.

.8) A cylindrical wooden handle (possibly for a brush)

.9) A steel skeleton key. The handle is flat with three open circles and a diamond design.

.10) A steel clip with a rounded head.
