Description : A woman's knee-length coat of simple design. The material is purple cotton voided velvet with a channelled, wavy design. The body of the coat is straight cut and the sleeves are raglan cut and wide. The collar is narrow, turnned back and tucked at centre back. The collar extends into lapels running the length of the coat which are tacked in place at the top so that it looks like a wide pointed collar at the front. The front of the coat does not fasten in any way. The lining inside is a light purple colour, likely acetate. A tag inside the neck reads, J.H. CASE ORIGINAL.

Commentaires : Coat belonged to Mrs. Olive Hipel and was worn with her coronation dress outfit in 1937. For more information on the Hipel's see 985.058.001.
