Commentaires : | The bake oven doors were in the summer kitchen of Jacob C. and Amanda Hallman, whose farmhouse was built in 1878 on the Huron Road, next to the present site of the New Dundee Country Club. Jacob Hallman and Amanda Bowman were married in 1880, at which time a summer kitchen was added to the house and the bake oven doors were installed in the bake oven in that room. The couple lived in that house until 1917, at which time they built a retirement home to which they then moved. The bake oven doors were dismantled from the summer kitchen a few years ago. Amanda Bowman's father was the first Reeve of Waterloo Township. |
