Description : Man's padded black silk kimono is a loose ankle length gown with front opening that closes from left to right. The sleeves are long and are wide at the wrist. The kimono has been padded using a cotton fabric which has been sewn between the outer silk and the silk lining. The kimono is embroidered with a large dragon on the back and smaller dragons on either side of the front. There are other pieces of embroidery on the sleeves and front. The embroidery is not in good condition and the design is hard to see. The thread appears to have a cotton core which has been wrapped with thin strips of reddish paper that has a shiny finish. The design has been made using embroidery thread which has been couched with cotton thread. Part of the dragon on the back has been padded using cotton, and the features (eye and tongue) have been embroidered using cotton crochet yarn.
