| Description : | This washing machine has a rectangular wooden box on 4 legs. One end of the box has a hinged lid. There is a crank which causes two wooden planks to move up and down, and back and forth. These planks fit through slots in the lid and are attached to 2 wooden feet inside the box. There is a label on one side that says `Gardiner's Patent/Patented July 2nd, 1858'. There is also a piece of paper on the lid that says `Washing Machine This machine was made years ago on the [Bemis?] McKay Property'. The whole thing is painted green.
