Description : | This heavy mallet has a squared head with a curved top. The ends taper (slightly) towards the bottom - tapered mortice. The handle is smooth with a narrow section near the top and a rectangular insert that fits through the head piece. Just below the head, "R.S." is printed on the handle in black lettering.According to the yellow cataloguing card, it is "made of burl walnut" and manufactured. 'A carpenter's mallet was used in driving in wood chisels and was usually made of lignum vitae or other durable wood' - Sellens. Length: 40cm; Width: 14.3cm |
