| Description : | A 104-page cookbook published by The Ladies of Talbot St. School Mothers Club. Printed by The Advertiser Job Printing Co. London, Ont. and dated November 1915. The book is bound with two staples, a paperboard cover and a linen jacket. The cookbook is a collection of recipes contributed by ladies listed on page 2. It is printed in black ink on clay coat paper. Advertisements for various sponsors are printed throughout. Additional recipes are handwritten on pages 64-65, 76, 101-104 in dark blue ink. The linen jacket is glued to the outer sides of the cover and folded in. The front is decorated with a hand-painted design of fruit and leaves, with the word _cookbook_ in brown and black paint . See photocopy. At the top of the cover page in black ink, _Irene_ , is handwritten. |
| Fonctions : | The preface on page 4 explains that this cook book was developed with the goal of providing economical recipes to the _busy housewife in her study of ways and means during the trying days through which the Empire is passing._ The title page (page 1) shows that the project was in aid of _Red Cross and War Contingent Funds_.BR> Donated by long time volunteer and Mississauga resident, John Hammil. Many of the artifacts donated belonged to either his family or that of his first wife Gertrude. |
