Description : | Black and white glossy photograph of a hockey players skirmish near a hockey net. One of the teams is wearing a dark coloured jersey and dark coloured pants. The other team is wearing a light coloured jersey and dark coloured pants. The goalie is hidden by the players so it is difficult to see what side the players are on. There is an electronic sign in the top left corner of the photo which indicates the score, time to play, penalties for each side and what period it is. According to the sign the visitors are up by one in the first period and have 17:01 minutes to play. There are two flags (Canadian Flag and a Union Jack) attached to poles on the wall behind the goalie. |
Fonctions : | Organized hockey was first established in 1946 with the creation of The Toronto Township Hockey League (TTHL). The league included five different levels or divisions of play with games being played on outdoor rinks across the township. By 1967 there were four covered arenas used for the TTHL: these include Port Credit (1959), Dixie (1949), Huron Park (1967) and Streetsville (1962). |
