Description : Light beige glazed earthenware crock with handle. This crock is one foot, 7 ½ inches high and 10 inches in diameter at the base. It has a 9 ¼ inch handle. On the front of the crock there are painted blue flowers, and the words "W E WELDING Brantford Ont. 5 ", stamped in blue. The jug has an unglazed mouth and bottom exterior. This jug was most likely used for storing milk or water.
Commentaires : In 1867 Brantford Pottery was under the control of William E. Welding, and it was by far the largest ceramics factory throughout Southern Ontario.
