Description : This action photograph of figure skaters Barbara Wagner and Robert Paul shows the pair in mid-jump during a performance. Both skaters have their arms crossed over their chests, and their right legs are extended behind them while their left legs are extended forward and are bent at the knee. They both have their bodies turned toward the camera and are smiling. Wagner is wearing a dark skating dress, and Paul is wearing a dark skating suit. Onlookers observe the performance from a row of steps behind the skaters. This is a glossy black and white photograph.
Fonctions : In 1957, Barbara Wagner and Bob Paul won the Canadian, North American and World Championships in pairs figure skating. All 3 events were won in a 16 day period. This success continued at the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley where they won gold - the first time that the gold had gone to a non-European pair. Inscribed on the back of the photograph is: "PLEASE CREDIT Canada's Sports Hall of Fame" - "PROPERTY OF CANADA'S SPORTS HALL OF FAME - CANADIAN NATIONAL EXHIBITION - TORONTO" - "WAGNER AND PAUL
