Description : This action photograph shows figure skater Barbara Wagner with her skating partner Bob Paul. The photograph was taken during a performance, and the pair are in mid-jump. Both skaters are performing the jump, and are facing outward with arms crossed, front legs bent and back legs extended behind them. The pair are smiling as spectators look on in the background from underneath what appears to be a large, white tent. Paul is wearing a black skating outfit and Wagner sports a dark skating dress. This is a glossy black and white photograph.
Fonctions : In 1957, Barbara Wagner and Bob Paul won the Canadian, North American and World Championships in pairs figure skating. All 3 events were won in a 16 day period. This success continued at the 1960 Winter Olympics at Squaw Valley where they won gold - the first time that the gold had gone to a non-European pair. Inscribed on the back of the photograph is: "Wagner and Paul
