The 33rd Regiment (Infantry) served in New Brunswick from 1843-48. The City of Fredericton has a long military history because of its stature as both a colonial and provincial capital. As a garrison town, numerous British regiments were stationed in Fredericton until 1869. The city's long association with the military continues to this day with the 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown located in nearby Oromocto and the Royal New Brunswick Regiment's Armoury located in the downtown area. |
Fonctions : | This button would have been worn on the uniform of a member of the 33rd Regiment (Infantry). Historically and still to this day, military uniforms are adorned with buttons that identifies the wearer's regiment, whether it is the numerical number or the initials identifying the regiment. |
