Description : Base for Scene. Scultpure of four hunters around air hole with walrus head. All dark grey stone except for sitting man which is dark green. All men on ivory pegs, glued down. The hunter has long (2 3/4') club(?) in right hand and knife in left. Last man has knife in left hand and remains of peg in right. A long club (?), a spear (?) and other tool (?) of bone are standing in the base. 00. Rounded rectangular base with walrus head has ivory tusks. Head is attached by rawhide thong (missing) to right hand of sitting man. 01. Standing man, right arm raised. Parka decorated at bottom edge. cuffs, and hood with incised lines (2) on either side of a row of dots. Two ivory pegs to located figure on base. Raised arm to hold harpoon (.06). 02. Seated man with parka decorated at bottom edge, cuffs and hood with incised lines (2) on either side of a row of dots. Incised lines and dots decorate footwear. Two ivory pegs to locate figure on base. 03. Standing man with a hole in each hand. Insiced lines (2) on parka edge, incised hood strings. Two ivory pegs to locate figure on base. 04. Standing man with ivory knife in left hand - empty hole in right hand. Incised lines (2) on parka edge and incised hood strings. Pegs to locate figure on base. 05. Bone paddle of club. 06. Ivory harpoon (broken shaft) 07. Ivory harpoon or spear. Stands between .01 and .02 on base. 08. Missing - likely before or during watermain break 1998. Tool type unknown. 31/08/04. 09. Appraised at $250 March 16, 1981 Eric's note (2013): Artist name previously "Ajeeaktashuk" almost certainly a typo. Akeeaktashuk was one of the best known Inuit carvers in the early 1950s, often called the "Arctic Angelo
