| Description : | Ayrshire handkerchief on fine cotton (lawn) with cotton thread. Cream threads on cream fabric. Morning glory like floral design, one motif in each corner that continues almost to centre of each side. Scalloped edge border with zig zap edge. Small circles embroidered into each zig zag tooth. Inside of each scallop is filled in with semi-circle, with a four-petal flower and a zig zag edge. Corners have three four-petal flowers and a leaf. Very fine work. Centre of handkerchief is plain. Mid-Victorian era. |
