Commentaires : At home in Summerside, PEI, Miss Wanda Wyatt received a telegram from her Aunt Beatrice on November 1, 1928 offering her a ticket for an around the world cruise. Wanda responded to the telegram accepting her aunt's offer. Wanda notes she paid $2.25 for "4 little snaps" for her passport, and sent a wire to the Hamburg-American Line to request information concerning the trip. During her travels, Wanda recorded her voyage in a custom-printed, gold embossed logbook supplied to each of the 380 passengers on the 1929 world cruise aboard the S.S Resolute. They sailed from New York on January 7, 1929, and returned to the same port on May 28, 1929. On Wednesday, February 20 Wanda writes the following in her log book after her visit to Calcutta, India. "Took special trip to Parsee burying ground-bodies laid on grating on a tower eaten in 2 hours by vultures- bones thrown in pit, dried by sun & carried away by torrential rains. Hunted for tiger skin- got un-mounted Bengal tiger 64.00 and a saree (sic) 20.00. Barely made the train…train so bumpy impossible to read or write."
