Description : | Shoes: Left (.1) and right (.2), baby shoes, round toe, open along top edge with buttoned strap to be fastened around ankle, textured lined blue satin, running horizontally along toes and vertically along sides and back; bow of same fabric attached to upper edge; embroidered blue cotton thread, a design of round petal daisies, stems and leaves cascading over the toe and along both sides of the shoe; leather soles and white cotton interior of brushed cotton, cotton thread stitching along interior and panels; round pearl button and hole attaches the two sides of strap; no maker's marks |
Commentaires : | Cecelia Lefurgey Wyatt and James Edward Wyatt, married 1890 had three children, the first Dorothy born August 23, 1893, the second Wanda born May 9, 1895 and the third and Ivan born August 20, 1896, these shoes were found stored in the side pocket of a traveling trunk located in the Wyatt House Attic. It is believed that one or all of the Wyatt children as infants wore these shoes |
