| Description : | rocking chair, wood, metal; child's rocking chair; curved square shaped back splat made from pressed wood with pedestal style cut outs at seat; back splat reverse supported at cut outs by two wooden linear supports; back (u.r) and (u.l) corners carved scroll like leaf shapes; square seat framed in hard wood with a smaller pressed wood insert in center; insert held in place with 31 brass tacks; insert (c) depiction of three cherubs playing among flowers framed in a circle of vine's; arms made from solid hardwood carved to curve on interior with little carving on exterior to define shape; arms connected to lower corners of back splat and are elevated by two V-shaped pressed wood cut out arm supports attached to side corner of seat; chair rests on 4 solid wood turned 'bobbin turning' spindle legs; stretchers attach each front and rear legs with another connecting across at (c) of each stretcher; below two carved solid wood rockers; all visible attachments are made with large metal screws |
