Fonctions : | Manufactured by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co., Wallingford, Connecticut, who in 1899 were incorporated into The International Silver Company. Purchased by the Irelands and used in their dining room for many years. Built 1835-37, Ireland House was the home of Joseph Ireland, one of Burlington's earliest settlers. He emigrated from Bowes, Yorkshire, England in 1819 and petitioned for land at Oakridge Farm. The farm changed hands over three generations, from Joseph to his son John, followed by John's son George. Ireland House was occupied by Joseph and his descendants up until 1985. |
