Description : | As with image 2015.013.001, the image is of the lighthouse on the Isle of Haute and the attached accommodation for the keeper and his family. Unlike the previous image, the buildings are slightly over exposed and the grass is correctly exposed. Sitting on the grass are two people. The viewpoint in this image is exactly the same as the previous image. What is not known is whether both pictures were printed from the same negative and whether the two figures could not be seen in image #1 because the grass was so underexposed. |
Fonctions : | There are four pictures in this collection, each accessioned separately. On July 17, 1933, two families visited, together, the Isle of Haute. Those were the families of Viola and Frank Eaton and the families of Pern Illsley (1898-1962) and Anne VanBuskirk Illsley nee Spittle (1899-1988). Thus there were Eatons, Illsleys and Spittles on the trip. Description: with the exception of the word, "Lighthouse," which was omitted, all the data on the reverse of the photograph is identical to that found on 2015.013.001. |
