Description : | Ladies's lined cape with black rose patterned lace around front, neck and edge above flounce. It has an organza flounce with gathered edges that is sewn on by hand. Five tucks in centre back and shoulders. Lining attached by hand. Three push open hooks at centre back and fronts. Black corded tassels attached to heart shaped embroidery at bottom centre fronts. |
Fonctions : | Collection donated by Mrs. Margaret Chase (1908 - 7 April 2005), wife of well-known apple farmer Robert William Chase (1902-1971), and her daughter Mrs. Peggy (William) Smith - complete family genealogy attached to gift agreement form. This artifact was worn by Margaret's grandmother, Mrs. Helen Hart, in Scotland circa the 1860s/1870s. |
