Description : Hat has 2 rows of covered wire around the rim. There are also 2 that cross the crown. Ones on brim are sewn into the hat, others are exposed. Outer rim is edged with embossed burgundy ribbon, pleated, 0.75". Sewn on 1.5" net with covered wire sewn into the outer edges. The crown of the hat is pleated and gathered cream silk sewn to the brim at the center front and back. At the center back there is a decorative looped burgundy bow and above that a fluffy rosette of cut lace.
Fonctions : mob' cap worn by married women in 1850 and up until early 1900s - worn indoors.
