The body of the vessel has an open base about .5 cm wide and .5 cm high. The main part is shaped in 8 convex vertical panels. The top edge is rolled out and down. The handle is mounted at the centre of one of the vertical panels just below the upper rim and just above the base. The handle is 5 cm long, curved, extending 1.7 cm from the body. The lid hinge is mounted at the top of the handle curve. The lid is slightly concave with the lower edge rolled out. At the centre there is a round (.6 x 1 cm) handle with a globe-like shape, a tiny tip at the top. The cut-out for the spoon is directly opposite the hinge. The base is stamped with maker's marks and also "Made in England". On the inner surface of the lid, to the proper right of the spoon cut-out, from left to right: Lion passant, letter 'C', number '17' each in an open book shape. On the outer surface of the base, to the proper right of the handle, from left to right: anchor, lion passant, letter 'C', each in a square, Queen's portrait in an oval, number '17' and a stylized A in an oval with Bros.
