Description : A three-pronged iron flesh fork. The centre of the prong is straight and the two ends are curved to meet the slender cylindrical handle. The top of the fork is shaped in an oval, and a hole is cut in the centre for hanging.
Fonctions : Unlike regular forks found on the dinner table, flesh forks are used in the kitchen to take meat from a boiling pot. The flesh fork resembles the Greek "Kreagra" ( Greek, Kpreaypa). Table forks were not usually used in antiquity (except for food preparation). The Italians were the first to use it at the dinner table at the end of the 15th Century, France by the 16th Century, and the British Isles by the end of the 17th Century.
