Column two has a picture of his new bride, Dora Sayers. The article contains a short biography of Dora: her education and acting career. The article misquotes Forbes' age "40" instead of 50. |
Fonctions : | Ralph (pronounced RAYF) Forbes (1896-1951) was born in London, England on 30 September 1896. He was a renowned actor with over 70 movies to his credit, including "The Tower of London" (1939), "Frenchman's Creek" (1944), and probably his most famous movie, "The Hound of the Baskervilles" (1939). He was formerly married to actress Ruth Chatterton (divorced in 1932) and actress Heather Angel (divorced in 1941). Ralph and Dora Sayers of Benares met in 1942 during the stage production of No‰l Coward's "Private Lives." Dora and Ralph were married in 1946 at the home of his first wife, Ruth Chatterton, who remained a close friend to both. The couple visited Benares often and spent time at the family cottage on Georgian Bay. Ralph died in New York, 31 March 1951, five years after he and Dora had married. |
