Description : | (1) A black plastic stopple with a tubular top (1 cm in diameter) and wings attached to the cap/tube to allow for easy turning. There are three rows of screw threads and a rubber (?) below the threads, held in place by a plastic ring. The centre of the stopple from the upper tube to the lower ring is hollow. "NEMCO" is stamped on one side of the wing. (2) A green and white box measuring 6.5 x 3.2 x 3.2 cm. Information is printed on each (lower) side of the box. Above the print are five white stripes, spread apart are varying intervals. The packaging reads (in white letters on a green background): "Realmont/ COMBINATION FOUNTAIN STOPPLE/ RM". Sides 2 & 4: "Realmont RUBBER SUNDRIES are best in quality". Side 3: "Realmont Ltd. ALAN WEBSTER importers Cowansville, Canada". |
Fonctions : | A stopple works as a plug, closing an aperture. Alan Ross Webster (b. 24 March 1903 d. 3 January 1988) was an importer and merchant, born in Duluth, Minnesota. He immigrated to Canada and became a member of the Progressive Conservative party in the House of Commons. He won the 1958 Saint-Antoine riding in Westmount, Quebec and served one term (1958 to 1962) in the 24th Canadian Parliament before retiring from politics.
