Description : Miniature pencils of various colours. Most of the pencils have a celluloid ball tip with a metal hoop at one end. Each pencil has a coloured string attached, and includes a tassel at the end of each string. The pencils may have been used for scoring card games or possibly for dance cards. Colours include: white, blue, pink, yellow, green, and orange. Printed on the side of each pencil reads: 'WM. TYRRELL & CO., TORONTO'.
Fonctions : These pencils were included with a series of games that Annie and Naomi Harris made up when they were children.Wm Tyrrell and Company was an Toronto office supply store, established in 1902 and was initially located at 8 King Street West and later moved to 820 Yonge Street. After William Tyrrell's death in Jan, 1945 the name was changed to Tyrrell's Office Supply and remained in operation until the late 1950s.
