Description : | A folded note card with the image of a small grey kitten and a bouquet of pink roses on a piece of white lace. The background of the card is a pale pink. Inside the card is a handwritten note dated " Sunday Feb 25th, 1968 - Benares". The note reads " Dear Cees, Not having any card in the house suitable for a young lad, I'm going to write on this "Pussy Cat Haste note" to let you know we have been thinking & thinking of you since your father told us where you are & what has taken place since we last saw you. Again thinking of you & for you with lots of good wishes, we are sincerely yours". It is signed "Naomi Harris", "Esme Traill" and "Mona Kay". The inside top corners of the card have a brown stain from where they were taped. The back of the card is printed with a logo which reads "Kitten Tales" and has the cartoon image of a cat. Fonctions : | As a boy Cees delivered eggs door to door to houses in Clarkson including Benares (the home of Naomi Harris) and the Log Bungalow (the home of Annie Harris). Cees also cut Annie's lawn for a couple of years. He also remembers Annie giving him stamps because she knew that he collected them. In 1968 Cees had his leg amputated because of cancer and these cards were sent to him from Naomi and her companions Mona and Esme and from Annie. |
