Description : | A three ring binder containing documents relating to the Mississauga Heritage Foundation and Bradley House Museum from the years 1975 to 1985. Contents include list of directors for the organization, reports and minutes for both the foundation as well as the local architectural conservation advisory committee. The light blue plastic binder is marked in the front with orange and red printing that reads :'Canadian Crittal Metal Window Limited'. A rectangular piece of paper marked 'Bradley House' is found taped to the front of the binder. |
Fonctions : | Binder of notes belonged to Robert Harrison and his wife Mercia who were involved with historical board that ran Bradley Museum. Robert Keith Harrison (1923-1997) was born in North Toronto and grew up in a house in the Weston area where he attended Western Tech highschool. When he graduated he joined the air force in 1942 and went over seas in World War II as a Lancaster Bomber Pilot between the years of 1943 and 1945. He then married Mercia in 1951. He studied at U of T but never finished his degree. Bob and Mercia went to Toronto Township in 1949 and they were able to built a house in Lorne Park area located on Woodeden Drive; there house was the first one to be built in the Lorne Park area after World War II. Merica Harrison was the president of the Township of Toronto Historical Foundation during the late 1970s and early 1980s. |
