Description : A typed letter on Government House Ottawa letterhead to Mary Fix from J. F. Delaute, Secretary to the Governor-General, dated 21 October 1957. It reads: "I have been requested by His Excellency the Governor-General to thank you for your telegram of the 15th October. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to submit your request to the Private Secretary to The Queen before Her Majesty's departure for the United States. If it should still be your desire to present the film to Her Majesty, on behalf of the Township of Toronto, I would suggest that the gift be offered through the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario". It is signed "J. F. Delaute" in black ink.
Fonctions : The film "The Cinderella Township" (1957) was produced by Ashley & Crippen Studio of Toronto as "a continuing campaign to attract new industry within" the township's borders. It was directed by Dan Gibson, scripted by Ken Armstrong, a resident of the Township for many years, and Joel Aldred, well-known commentator, did the narration.
