Description : | A General Electric floor polisher made out of metal that is painted turquoise. Has a beige rubber handle cover, electric cord and rubber bumper strip. On the underside of the handle is a chromed metal ON/ OFF panel that is held in place with 4 head screws. A metal switch with a knob moves up for the OFF position or downwards for the ON position. The cable is wrapped around two hooks on the back of the polisher, on the stem of the handle. The cord is covered in rubber and the end of the cord is has a black 2 pin plug. A bracket is hanged with the steel bolt holds the handle stem and is attached to the head of the polisher. |
Fonctions : | The General Electric Floor Polisher was a advertised as a tool used for cleaning floors. Various ads note the ease of use of this product as it came with various pads for applying soap to the floor and as well as polishing surfaces. The Harris family had wood floors throughout their home and used carpet rugs to cover certain areas in different rooms. The floors on the main level were redone in 1935 right before Barbara Sayers had a birthday party at the Benares house to celebrate her Sweet Sixteen. |
