Description : The note addressed to Mrs. Fix is dated Oct. 17th, 1951 from Port Credit Ontario. The letter thanks Mrs. Fix for the use of dresses from her shop for a fashion show. The writer, Nancy Wood, was the Choir Secretary of the First United Church in Port Credit who sponsored the fashion show. The note card is a Hallmark card with a picture of a lady in a pink crinoline dress approaching a carriage with two horses and a driver standing by.
Fonctions : The note was written by Nancy Wood, Choir Secretary of the First United Church of Port Credit thanking Mrs. Fix for allowing the women's group to use dresses from the Cloverleaf Dress shop during their fashion show for 'Fun and Frocks'. Mary Fix (1862-1972) moved to Port Credit in 1931 with her husband Albert. After his death in 1945 she opened up the Cloverleaf Dress shop out of her home on Centre Road. Mary was always interested in fashion as she previously worked as a European buyer for T. Eaton Company travelling to countries in Europe selecting ladies fashions.
