Description : A handwritten letter in black ink on beige laid paper dated March 19th, 1914, to Katy from J. Radenhurst. It concerns particulars of the will of Edith Grant). The top of the letter reads "Cresswell, Ont." Radenhurst inquires about a Mrs. Brown, and who "Edy's" lawyer was. He also includes a P.S. mentioning a comment she had made in a previous letter concerning $300. as the value of a church pew at St. James, which he indicates he would appreciate receiving as he doesn't have much to live on. Earlier in the letter he states that he is 1/3 owner of the pew and that if someone pays him $100.00 he would sign the release or deed conveying it to the purchaser.
Fonctions : Miss Mary Edith Grant (1849 ca - 1912) was a friend of Kate Sayers, Helen Sayers and Edith Draper all relatives by marriage of Annie Sayers ne‚ Harris. The letter was written by a J.C. Radenhurst who was mostly likely Edith Grant's cousin. John C Radenhurst was listed as living with Edith and the rest of the Grant family in 1891. Katy was most likely in reference to Katherine or Kate Sayers who was mother-in-law to Annie Harris Sayers. Kate was listed as an executor of Mary Edith's will when she passed away in September of 1912.
